Growing grass in pots for my dog

Want to grow a few pots of grass for my dog to chobble on. He has a garden which has no lawn and I see him occasionally chewing on some of the plants. This isn't an issue but presumimg grass might be healthier. Google tells me wheat, barley, or rye grass rather than standard, potentially toxic, lawn seed. Anyone done this or have any suggestions as to what's easiest to grow for him or what he might like

It is a regular thing which cat owners do and so there are “cat grass” kits.
Might be worth you googling those.

Ours is incredibly fussy about what grass and snuffles through the undergrowth to find it. Check the plants you dog is nibbling in the garden, some are toxic to dogs.
