Recommendations for a fast growing climbing/tall flower

Hello lovely mumsnetters,

I had some wonderful recommendations on this board last year for roses (ended up buying quite a few) so I am back to ask if anyone can recommend a fast growing flower that can get to a height of about 6ft, ideally it would fit in a rectangular planter and be pink (not too fussy about shade of pink).

I have quite a few roses now so hoping to plant something different that will cover my compost bins and an ugly wall.

Thank you.

What aspect is it-sunny, shady, partial shade?

What size rectangular container, and can you attach wires, trellis or similar to the wall to support a climber, or are you looking for more of a shrub type plant?

Hi @Plot30B thank you so much for replying.

It is a partially shaded area. My FIL has offered to make the planter and attach a trellis. Looking at the area we will be using it in, the planter will likely be about 3-4ft wide.
Happy for suggestions for both shrubs and climbers, I like big showy flowers but willing to compromise 😅

Have a look at oleander and hibiscus and mallow.
Edited to add none of them are climbers, but all reasonably easy and will get to a good size quite quick, and nice showy flowers. You can get pink in all three and white and mauve too in hibiscus and white oleander too. Maybe other colours not sure.

Clematis grow pretty fast and come in various colours. Some are more or less evergreen, though others do need to be cut back or die back naturally in the autumn so you will need to research them. You can get ones which flower in winter which is great because not many other climbers do.

Clematis are very fast growing - I had a clematis montana which grew incredibly well in a partly sunny spot.

I have a Jasminum x stephanense covering an ugly fence. Very vigorous, it's not actually in my garden but my neighbour just leaves it to grow. Pale pink flowers. It does need some support, it gets heavier than a clematis but lighter than a wisteria. Does fine in partial shade, mine is in between/on top of shed and fence.

Edit: smells nice too. It does get a bit straggly at this time of year, it's a semi evergreen.
