Please help me design this garden

I really want a pergola in my garden . I think I should knock down the shed and put it there along the fence looking out to the pond but my mother thinks to have it out by the front door looking down the garden. I've been mulling it over for months . I've attached pics and ChatGPT mock up's. What do you think is best ?

For the majority of the year you will be looking at it through the windows of your house, so maybe site it with that in mind. You don't need to have it by the house or fence, it could be a standalone feature in the middle of the garden.

away from the house imo. Make it a feature as you have a long sweep of grass. Great opp for lots of under planting too

I'd suggest doing it depending on the ideas you have for the pergola. You can try a landscape visualizing app or software instead of an AI pic, something like https://gardenbox3d.com/ or similar, where you can draw the set up and have a virtual walk through it. This way you'll actually see the plan "from the inside" and have a better understanding of which fit works better.
I also agree that for the most part you'll be looking at it from the house windows, so make sure it doesn't take away the lighting if it's too close to the house.

But I agree with others that you need to define its use / purpose, that will help with decision making.
