Roses to frame or cradle a front bay window?

I am horticulturally illiterate but I am looking to plant two or maybe three roses in a flowerbed running under a standard bay window. I've seen others where the stems nicely run along under the window giving it a framing look but given the roses I've planted in the past, there's no way they can be trained to do that!

Does anyone have any recommendations, or even suggest whether I should be looking at shrub or bush roses?

If you want the stems to run horizontally and a long flowering period you will want a climbing rose, and you will need to put wires up along the wall with screw in loops and then prune and tie the rose in once a year to grow along the wires.

Or you could buy shrub roses and gore them at the bottom of the wall for a similar effect. They won't need the wires but they will still need pruning once a year to keep a nice shape.

Have a look at the David Austin website, lots of rosy support there

We have this. You need a couple of climbing roses.

And careful training along wires. It will take some years.

My favourite source for roses is Trevor White. Use the filtering on their website to narrow it down. All the roses I have ordered from them have arrived in excellent condition and thrived https://www.trevorwhiteroses.co.uk/
