Hello

My six year old child is desperate for a greenhouse. I had sourced a second hand one but after the storm this weekend it’s an impossible idea here, on the side of a Scottish hill.

im looking at smaller wooden poly carbonate houses.

or maybe a wooden playhouse?

essentially they wish to create Jurassic park type area with some veg and lots of interesting plants.

has anyone seen anything reasonable looking that won’t smash and harm them and will be less likely to kill people if it blows away.

it will be cemented down but so was the swing.

I’m posting to see what the replies are. I grew up on a particularly windy hill and a Greenhouse was just a dream sadly.

Cold frame? Mini greenhouse or two (the type that goes against a house wall)?

I can't offer any help OP but just wanted to say that your last line was so very funny.

I don’t know. A cold frame she can’t hide in. A shed won’t be the same growing environment.

its like the most random request.

I have a wooden frame greenhouse with plastic type windows in my basket. but I am not convinced.

ive looked at Polytunnels. But unless you have thousands to spend that’s gone in a storm.

Perhaps it’s a Dragons den. Child safe sturdy play greenhouse.

Polycrub? Expensive though. But they were designed to cope in just these conditions.

The other option I guess would be to make some kind of Jurassic park hideaway out of planting? Big ferns maybe?

And a big coat.

Yeah, I get you.

pits a funny one. She collects fossils. So I think has in her head a sort of wild growing fossil base.

the grows veg, so the greenhouse makes sense.

just a safer version.
