Pyracantha? Literally means fire thorn (pyro, acanthus) - thorny, fire coloured berries.

Vicliz24 · 19/09/2025 19:18

Yes, pyracantha

Nourishinghandcream · 20/09/2025 10:47

Looks like holly to me.
Any chance of stopping next time and getting a better photo?

Good year for holly around here, we already have lots of red berries on some bushes but it strikes me it may be a tad early?

ThreePears · 20/09/2025 16:41

Holly? With orange berries? No. It's pyracantha, as other pp's have already said.

Seawolves · 20/09/2025 16:42

Leaves are too small for holly.

Dilbertian · 20/09/2025 16:45

Yes, I think pyracantha is right. Very lovely. Shame I don’t have a suitable location.

You can Google image search it.

Bohemond23 · 20/09/2025 16:46

It is very evil and prickly.

Evil? 😟

Great for keeping burglars out though!

You could, but it will unhelpfully tell you it's cotoneaster. Humans are still better botanists, for now.
