Colourful ground cover

Hi, can anybody please help suggest plants that I can either grow from seed or maybe buy cheap from an online nursery in france.
I would like perennials, with colour.
We have a border of lavender which is lovely in summer when flowered, and a couple of sedums that are now in flower. But I'm fed up of all the shab green we have (and brown dead grass in summer)
Would love some lively colours but plants need to be frost tolerant for winter colour and drought tolerant for summer as we get 30+c and can't water the whole garden.
It's south facing but has some shade due to a fence between where we will plant between the lavanders and the veg patch
Many thanks!

Unfortunately I don't know french nurseries but I'd maybe look at dead nettle (Lamium) or creeping thyme
