And what will you do with the green ones. So far I've made green tomato curry sauce, which was suprisingly delicious

I'm a relative newbie to tomato growing. I've got lots of small green ones in a greenhouse but I suspect they won't ripen now or will they? Had a lovely crop last year grown from overripe ones but some duds. I kept the green tomatoes from last year and replanted them this year but i don't know if that's why they're not thriving? I did pinch them out. Your curry sauce sounds nice!

Yes it was yummy. Definitely got a better crop last year.

I have often left the plants doing their thing well into November. Most tomatoes going red/reddish. With the green ones I will leave them to ripen in the kitchen/utility etc and they get there eventually. Most end up in the freezer waiting to be added to soup, bolognese and chilli.

Great! I'll wait and watch. I noticed one was going a bit yellowy orange so maybe they're starting to ripen. 🫰

I make green tomato chutney.
You can freeze green tomatoes and they come out pretty much as they went in i.e. firm; they don't go mushy in the freezer. This means you can collect as you go and then make a big batch of chutney when you have enough fruit.
