Do slugs eat carrot seedlings?

I've planted carrots but no sign of any growth, unless they've come up and been munched by snails in the couple of days since I've looked. Are they a favourite of snails, does anyone know please?

Don't know, but something ate a lot of mine this year too or else they failed to germinate, but unlikely as I bought new seed tapes which I shalln't bother with again.

mind took ages to germinate, they do seem to be quite slow growing, was just about to give up on them.
