I put a garden thermometer on my kitchen windowsill. South Wales. South facing, glorious sunlight from noon until dusk.
But what can I grow?
I tried chives, thin and sparse. I tried parsley(for Guinea pig) thin and browning leaves, no abundance.
What to do, what can I think about for next year maybe?
Planter are 15cm wide and 15cm deep.

Basil? Likes the sun but needs to be watered regularly.
Mint would do well - there's loads of smaller varieties that won't grow too high.
Minature chilli pepper plant?

Does it need to be edible? Basil and chilli plants a good shout. Otherwise succulents would thrive.

I have a similar window sill full of cactuses and succulents.

Pepper plants would also work - sweet as well as chilli. Padrón or Hungarian wax could do well.

Succulents, cacti and pelargoniums all do well on my sunny windowsill. You could try rosemary I suppose as that is a Mediterranean herb and likes the sunshine, but most ordinary herbs & houseplants would fry.

Thank you! I will look into the herbs and mini peppers could work. I'll have a lovely time researching these.
