Kerb appeal - planting pots

We're planning on putting our house on the market in the next month. The dry weather and hosepipe ban has meant the borders have struggled to bloom this year, so they're a bit lacking in colour. I keep watering and feeding my Gladioli to try and coax them to flower Wink.

I have some spare pots and am thinking of planting up a few to put at the front of the house, I already have a couple of roses flanking the doorway which seem to be doing quite well this year (random buys from Lidl a couple of years ago). I have a couple of bags of ericaceous compost I want to use up, so I'm thinking a few dwarf conifers for some of them. Would you go with flowers for the rest of them to add some colour? I'm tempted to buy a few more roses as my neighbour's seem to also be loving the sun. Any recommendations of any container plants (particularly if they tolerate full sun) welcome if you've seen any bargains online.

Geraniums are good for this weather. I wouldn’t be paying out a lot if you’re going to sell.

I did think of Geraniums, but they seem to be sold out everywhere I've looked online and I think all the nearby Garden Centres have now closed down. I'm planning on taking the plants with me, as they'll be in pots rather than planted the beds.

I think all the nearby Garden Centres have now closed down.
Supermarkets etc (I'm including the likes of Home Bargains in there) have a big selection of late-summer colour at the moment.
Normally I'd say your garden purchases should be governed by your shopping list (don't succumb to impulse, head over heart, etc) but, in this instance, it's probably best to just see what's available and choose from that!
