Just hoping someone might be able to identify this plant 🤞

According to Google images!!

The plant in the image is Nerium oleander, commonly known as Oleander, a popular ornamental shrub often found in Mediterranean climates

Footle · 04/08/2025 13:31

I think it may be poisonous if handled. Google it.

Looks like Heather (Erica).

Yes that’s an Oleander - I live in Spain & they’re everywhere here. Very hardy & lots of different colours too. But…they’re extremely toxic to humans & animals.

All parts the plant are poisonous, especially the leaves and flowers, causing vomiting, diarrhoea, dizziness, convulsions, irregular pulse and then respiratory distress. Smoke from burning the plants is also toxic, and oleander is also a skin irritant. Poisonings from oleander are rare, as it has a foul taste.”

dreadful picture but I think it’s oleander - one of the most toxic plants on the planet.

I don't think OP is planning to eat it 😁

Much like foxglove - be sensible with where you plant it.

No it doesn't.

No it doesn't.

After looking more closely at the flower agree with you.

Oleander is so pretty and the pink ones smell lovely on a hot day!

The seeds in particular are very toxic, but poisoning seems rare in Europe. For some reason it is a popular form of self-harm in Sri Lanka 😬

Thanks everyone!... I took the pic while in Germany last week. I had seen something very similar here in the UK in tubs in someone's garden.
I have dogs, so I'm really grateful to everyone who's pointed out that it's poisonous!
