allotment produce and freezers

any suggestions/recommendations for organizing frozen produce?
I think our chest freezer is nearing the end...and its a nightmare of jumbled up plastic bags, mostly, and we haven't seen the bottom of it for months

if and when we get a new one, how to avoid this chaos?

and does anyone have a freezer they particularly recommend? its in the cellar so doesn't have to be beautiful, just efficient

produce doesn’t have to be frozen to preserve them. Things can be bottled, pickled, dried, turned into jams, jellies and chutneys.

if you do want to freeze stuff then a freezer with drawers is probably easier to manage than a chest freezer.

Might sound mad but I organise mine in shopping bags, so there's one for veg, meat products, vegetarian son, bread, fruit. (fabric or crochetted string bags.) Works for me as I have a chest one in the cupboard under the stairs which is awkward to access so I just pull out the relevant bag onto the kitchen table to find what I want.

thanks for these suggestions, I think bags might be the way to go
upright freezers with drawers (at least the ones I've seen, maybe someone knows different?) have much smaller capacity and cost more than chest freezers

I do have a cupboard very full of jams and chutneys! Bottling I found to be very messy and a difficult process. I did borrow a dehydrator one year and dried masses of apple rings, only to find I don't actually eat many apple rings. I do grow beans to dry, that works well.

other suggestions for preserving fruit and veg welcome!

I've made fruit cordials as mammoth year for raspberries with the hot weather and one of my sons drinks a lot of fruit juice so saved a bit of money. Still got loads frozen, half a pound thrown into a basic sponge mix makes an easy cake/pudding........although i realise that is not preserving😋😂
