Neighbour has this plant / bush in front and back garden.

Its so pretty yellow and pink flowers on it. Grows big every year.

She said she got it from Turkey but doesnt know the name.

Was going to give me some last year but forgot.

Today I asked her for cutting but she was going out and handed me and about 30 /40 seeds and said just throw in garden !

I said maybe i will start with putting some in a pot she said OK.

I've tried to search the name and it comes up with Mirabilis jalapa.
4 o'clock plant

Any ideas if this is correct ?
Can I just plant some now ?
Could she give me a cutting of the bush now ?
if so cut with flowers on or just a stem etc ?

She is turkish speaks little English but her daughter can translate if needed. Thanks

I'll have to get more info Re: seeds and planting as I dont want to waste them.

I have that in my garden. It is definitely Marvel of Peru and it self seeds freely. I wouldn’t bother with a cutting.

Thanks@Jellybean23
I've just planted some of the seeds but in pots.
I've done some more reading on them and yes your right self seeds freely.

Just wanted to try a cutting for now for a quicker bit of colour, my garden is bare and im nowhere near getting a company to do total a redo so do not want to spend money on plants yet (except maybe a smaller type acer to put in a pot for now) So it dull and depressing at mo.

I'll see how the seeds go and save some for now though.

Update
Seeds have grown a bit so that's good.

But as i planted recently im assuming they wont grow much now or get to flower as its nearly sept.
So will they die off and regrow in spring ?
Do I just leave in garden in the pot ?

I've have loads more seeds so will plant them next year.

My FIL's garden in Sicily is full of these, they're called Bella di notte in Italy. Keep the pots somewhere sheltered over winter and they'll come back, they form corms like dahlias.

Thank you Pinkywoo
So sheltered outside rather than indoors.

Yes, I put mine in the greenhouse and forget about them until spring. I do have some in the ground, and have found they can survive the cold but if will rot if they get too wet.

Thanks. Have no Green House so will have to maybe cover them lol
