Beurre Hardy pear

My pear was a healthy specimen when I planted it in ?Feb but once the leaves opened they had brown spots and now have these black edges. Didn’t flower.
There are some full size trees about 15+ ft away. I’m not sure what’s wrong with it -any ideas?

It will have needed a lot of water once a week if it was only planted in feb. How much have you been watering it?

I haven’t but except for early summer -I’m in Scotland and it’s rained a lot but you could be right and it needed more water.

New trees need a surprising amount of water in their first year.
