What's wrong with my bush?

I think my bush is dying. So many leaves have died and fallen off it and the ones that are left have like a white disease on them which is also on the branches. I have literally no clue about gardening - this bush was here when we moved in years ago and I just trim it into shape and it's always been fine. Can it be saved? Please help

Box blight isn't it? I think there are sprays you can get but its hard to get rid of once its taken hold.

🤣

No need to brace ourselves for a "sensitive image"

It's not Buxus. It's a Euonymus possibly 'Silver Queen'. The white powder is powdery mildew which is more prevalent when the soil is dry. It looks like it has been close clipped when it was in drought stress. I would water really well, 5 or 6 watering cans. You may need to water slowly so the water doesn't run off. Then mulch the soil underneath, but not touching the stems. Finally keep watering with a couple of cans twice a week. You may have some dead to prune out but they are pretty resilient.

It looks like it could be suffering from an infestation of Euonymus scale, a sap sucking insect.

If it was my plant I would cut it back hard down to where you see the healthy growth near the bottom. I'd water and feed it plentifully and also spray the bejesus out of it with insecticide, and stand back hoping for the best.
