Be very careful if you're pulling bits of it up OP, I got a really itchy rash on my wrist from it in my garden.

It's a weed and it has a sap that makes my skin very sore and itchy, so be careful when you pull it up.

Yes, wear gloves when pulling it up - the sap is nasty. It seeds itself and spreads like a bastard as well, so you need to keep on top of it.
