Plant for screening that can be grown in a container

I’m having a major garden overhaul and after something I can plant in containers along a retaining wall at the end of my garden that will grow tall enough to provide a privacy screen, but doesn’t need loads of care and maintenance, as I’m disabled and not very green fingered!

Currently have a bit of a jungle going on, which provides privacy, but looks a mess, so getting that cleared soon.

Also any recommendations for container plants that I can easily grow in raised beds elsewhere in the garden? I’d really like a very low maintenance, but green and pretty, space that I can manage without too much bending!

Many thanks!

You can buy photinia/red Robin in pots already mounted on a frame that gives good screening

I’m growing bamboo for the same reason. Look for non-invasive “clumping” varieties as opposed to “running”.

Thanks. I’m just looking at these suggestions. Really like the look of the red robin, it’s so pretty.

Trees might be good as they will draw the eye up and provide screening and break up the view. Maybe a crab apple, which have beautiful flowers in spring and don't get too big or a rowan for autumn and winter colour?
