Is this aloe beyond rescue?

Houseplant question - this aloe plant has very brown, flimsy stems but healthy looking leaves at the end. I think it’s been pot bound for a while and I didn’t notice. Is there anything I can do with it?

I’ve googled how to propagate it - there are no ‘pups’ so it would be from the leaves.

Chop the squidgy bits off with a clean pair of secateurs. The cuts will callus over and seal.

If there's a squishy stem with healthy leaves, chop it off, remove the squishy bits and let the rosette callus over (it'll take about a day).

Get a clean pot with a freedraining, lumpy or sandy mix of soil that's damp and dump the bits on top just onto the top 3-5mm of surface. Put it on a windowsill and forget about it, along with what's left of the original plant.

You'll have more plants than you know what to do with by September.

Thank you @NeverDropYourMooncup - have chopped them about (there are 7 in total including two ‘pups’ that were hiding…) and have laid them out to get their calluses.

I’m ordering some succulent and cactus compost to pot them in.

Looking forward to seeing what they do!
