Sacrilege to remove wisteria?

At the front of my house I have a v successful climbing rose on one side and wisteria on the other, both about 9 years old. The wisteria is lovely but takes a lot of clipping back and encroaches on the neighbour. Would I be vv unreasonable to take it out and replace with a Madame Alfred Carriere or suchlike?

Wisteria can also cause subsidence if planted v close to the house.
my neighbour has one one our joint fence, it’s unruly nightmare, takes all the water and light from my flowerbed, has hardly any flowers which are short lived anyway.
Take it out if it doesn’t work for you.

Would it survive a move? Could you put it somewhere else or train it into a standard?

Thanks allgrownup that makes me feel slightly less guilty. genetics it’s in quite a small hole so would be hard to lift it out in one piece, I think.

We had a white wisteria on the low roofed garage wall of our 3 bed semi when we moved in - we couldn't let it grow high enough to be really appreciated even though a support was built out from the garage - they just get too big imv
