It has been in the ground since Feb/March. It has long thin leaves at the base of the plant which are green with red tips. Red stems grow from the base. The stems are now about 40/50 cms long. Masses of small flowers are at the top of the stems. The flowers are small pale green discs with red centres. Each flower has two other little flowers coming from its centre. These are also pale green discs with a red centre but very small.

I've always lived in older houses but don't now. This is the first garden that I have planted from scratch.I want to know what everything is. My son bought this unidentified plant on a trip to B+Q with his Dad so it won't be anything exotic. Does anyone know what it is?

If it is a Euphorbia, you may need to be careful letting the DCs near it - the sap is an irritant. (sorry - slightly scary link)
