Hanging baskets, same hight or equally spaced

I have two hanging baskets to go either side of the front door, but the drill absolutely will not go into the brick. If I drill the fastenings into the mortar I can either put the brackets equal distance from the door, but with one 2-3cm higher then the other. Or I can put them at the exact same hight but one will be half a brick further away from the door, with the one that's closer to the door being on a smaller wall, so maybe looking intentional.

Which will look less noticeable?

probably go for same height, but once they are full of plants they will never be perfectly symmetric and I bet no one will notice.

Can you introduce an intermediate step, e.g.basket-> small wooden panel-> mortar, which gets round the problem?
If not, I'd go for option B (same height, different spacing).

Same height, OR deliberately very different heights, e.g. waist/elbow and shoulder height.
