am very pleased with myself.
over the past few weeks I have

Dug up some garden.

Built (out of wood!) a raised bed area, using a saw and a spirit level too. My garden slopes crazily in 2 drections at once so no mean feat.

Filled said beds with earth and compost.

and today have planted my first ever seedlings in it.

I have

courgettes

french beans (and a beanpole wigwam)

Sweet Peas

Interesting gourdes

Carrots

Lettuce

Rockett

and will have a pumpkin or 2 when they are big enough to go out.

i also have 8 peppers and 6 tomatoes

all grown by my own fair hands from leetle seeds.
I feel like i am living in the good life.

I'd like a goat next.

Your goat would destroy that in 45 minutes, don't do it.

And please put a bra on, I'm trying to eat blancmange and you're putting me orf.

Tortington · 24/05/2008 18:53

i got mine from tesco

and i was nude at the time

NigellaTheUndomesticGoddess · 24/05/2008 18:53

well did have a bra on while digging - they'd have got a bit muddy if i hadn't.
how about a goose?

NigellaTheUndomesticGoddess · 24/05/2008 18:59

Nigella tell me how you did your raised beds...I want dh to make some
to have a try myself

NigellaTheUndomesticGoddess · 24/05/2008 19:00

cust - since when did tesco sell goats?

No.

Anything with a digestive system will eat those little plants! They aren't going to go for dried animal feed and dandelions if there are baby courgettes, rocket and tomaotes on offer!

Tortington · 24/05/2008 19:02

that shows how often you go to tesco nude

NigellaTheUndomesticGoddess · 24/05/2008 19:03

I used scafolding planks. treated them with fence preserver. nailed them in to a square with a cross piece in the middle making 4 beds.
dug out a square the same size then sunk the square in it. it was a bit tricky because like i said my garden isn't flat so one end is level with the lawn - the other sticks up - a bit like a terrace.
am quite smugly pleased.
