Surely you don’t grow Hostas for their flowers? I wouldn’t do anything. Just enjoy it.

They don't flower till later in the year

No, but it's nice to have the flowers as well. The bees really like them too.

Mine are all in flower, with multiple flowers. The only thing I have done is top up their pots with compost, and gave them a good feed as they were coming up. No other tips really.

Some people did tell me that I should give them some tomato food in the spring, so I'll try that next year.

This is the first year that one hasn't flowered, so I did wonder if it had got too dry?

Not sure about the dry. I have some in pots in the shade, some in bright sun, and some in the garden soil, in bright hot locations. They are all flowering, and I haven't watered the garden ones at all, and I'm in the South East, no rain for months!!!

Actually of the garden ones, the blues have not yet flowered, very shady, but the full sun ones have.

Love the blue ones !
Can you put a picture up when they do flower?

What are the plants behind the hostas? Pulmonaria?

Brunnera Jack Frost behind. They have the most beautiful forget me not flowers in Spring, deeper blue. Great value for money. I bought one 5 years ago and split it every year. I've now got dozens.

I do have pulmonaria but they go all crispy and brown in the summer whereas the brunnera don't.
