Morning all. Wondering if anyone can help me. I have a run of Hydrangeas in my garden. Planted three years ago. Up until this year they have all been doing great.

but this year I have one come back completely fine … looks beautiful. But the rest are growing weird. The others have not filled in the bottom? The top parts where the flowers are are perfect. In fact first year with this many flower on it. But the bottom parts have the buds but are barely growing leaves. I also have one that has more leaves but no flowers and looks bad.

They are all near each other and I don’t understand what is different. I’m so disappointed as it normally looks lovely and this year looks so awful. Any ideas? They have all had the same water for the last few years. So nothing has changed.

This happened to me two years ago. Still no idea why. I chopped it back and it has regrown normally.

What type of Hydrangea are they? A photo would help.
