And what can we do about it? Some branches are completely dead but others have leaves and pears growing.

It is stressed , probably not had enough water and now opportunistic infections are happening .

prune off diseased branches , water well and spray with bicarbonate of soda or neem oil top and bottom of leaves . Just seen quite a big tree , but water and feed will help.

Prune it in the winter to take out the dead wood.

Maybe wind damage?

Thanks a lot. Will water more. Poor thing.

not sure we can spray, it is quite tall.

Do we wait until winter to cut branches?

It’s missing a partridge?

Lovelyweatherbluesky · 21/06/2025 13:24

Can we buy any food for it? What sort?

Feeding won't bring dead branches back to life.

Yes, we need to cut them, but shall we wait until autumn? It is quite tall

Not sure how we can spray leaves when they are si high? Is there a device we can use?

Thank you everyone for the replies.

We've had an insect infestation on our pear, specific to pears. We water blasted, soapy water and cut out some of the worst affected areas. As for a spray, you can get extension tubes for sprays. We did cut our pear down, so it was easier to reach the top this year.

If they are likely to fall and be dangerous then yes. If not then usually you wait til it is dormant.

If it is dangerous then I'd call a tree surgeon in to look at it to be honest.

Thanks. I think we will need an expert as too high, will wait until winter and water and spray in the meantime.
