What would be good for here?

It's a little possible flower bed on my garden steps. The flowers would need to be less tall than the next step up of course. I get quite a bit of sun and it would be nice to have some flowers and colour there than weeds. I can't log in on my phone and took the photo on it, so hopefully you'll get the idea. Thank you!

Creeping thyme (it smells lovely when stepped on).

Thank you. I've not heard of either of those so will investigate. It is in front of the higher step so won't be stepped on.
