My yucca elephantipes is potentially poisonous to my cat and have decided I no longer want it in the house if there is a risk. I’ve had it for almost 15 years so it’s huge and I cannot easily move it to a high shelf. My only option would be to put it outside in the patio, however I am ready that it is not a hardy one (some Yuccas are) and it doesn’t seem to cope well with extreme cold.
I live in London so rarely get snow and ice here but winters are obv cold. I have relatives in Portugal and Spain that grow these in their balconies but obv climate is very different. Should I run the risk or better to rehome it? Has anyone tried with this specific type?
