Do you deadhead geums?

I have a lovely red geum.
I like the fuzzy heads that you get after the petals fall, but wondered if it’s better to deadhead to prolong the flowering season?

Yes, you can also cut them back a little as well.

If you deadhead them you will get loads and loads more flowers all season. To deadhead, feel down the stem of the flower to its base and then snap/cut it off. You should deadhead when the flowers are looking past their best; I wouldn't wait until all petals had dropped.

Thank you! I shall go out with my scissors…

I never have before this year but I was out deadheading other flowers in the border so the geums got a chop too.
