Anyone know what's wrong with my raspberries?

I bought these as bare root canes last autumn/winter, and planted them on my newish allotment then. They're "autumn bliss".

Since then, they started to grow in the spring, but growth seems to have stalled and look decidedly unhappy. One of the three has completely died off. The leaves are drying up and breaking off.

I planted them with a load of manure, and grew some green manure in the bed and dug it in before planting them. Have fed with liquid seaweed.

I've never grown raspberries before but they seem to be doing well elsewhere on the allotment site! Can I rescue these somehow? Or are they done for?

Could it be lack of water? Mine are about the same size, couple of years old. They usually like to climb up a frame??

I'd agree with the PP, they may need more water, it's been a dry Spring. The soil around them looks dry and cracked.

I don't know about climbing up frames, though. Mine (which fruit twice a year, early summer and autumn) just grow very tall so we put some strong wooden stakes around them and keep them in check with rope otherwise they bend down, the canes end up over 6 feet high (2 meters). They don't climb, they've no tendrils.

Thanks both. We have been watering them, but maybe not enough to keep up with the dry weather! The soil is quite clayish, so does tend to crack. Will give them a good soak and another mulch and see what happens.
