Moving ceanothus bush now

Ceanothus bush in garden is doing really well but it’s completely in the way of new project which I am keen to get started on. Would it be terrible to move it now rather than wait for dormant period? I really don’t want to wait several months!

Are there any birds nesting in it,they are asking haven for wildlife

Wait until some rain is scheduled and then move it. There’s no promise that it will be happy moved when dormant either! So I would go for it, the bigger the hole you can dig around it the better and lots of water. Some shrub feed would help too.

Ceanothus don't like having their roots messed with, but I agree with a pp - wait until rain is forecast.

Thank you! I’m reassured that if I wait for rain then it’s worth a gamble.
