Can I dead head French lavender now?

When to dead head French lavender? It flowered a lot earlier this year like many other plants. I don’t remember what I did last year but I also don’t want it to go woody. If I dead head it now, will I get more flowers this year?

Yes, but don't cut back as far as bare wood, leave most of the foliage on and just remove the spent flower stalks. Give it some feed and see what happens. Ordinary fertiliser is too high in nitrogen and causes leafy growth, so you want something to encourage flowering. Tomato feed fits the bill just nicely.
