We have a North facing garden, crappy limy soil and a lawn that has been destroyed by dogs and trampoline.

We want to replace our lawn with pebbles and a path of some sort - keep our beds with the plants at the side, but add pots etc.

I have literally no gardening skills or any ideas and no £ to get people in. I'd love to have a steer from anyone as to where to start. I've seen a few gardens on Pinterest that look interesting

I would start with Piet Odoulf prairie planting. He has stunning photos on his website. His books are really helpful, check your library. Ornamental grasses are really cheap. They look good with gravel and pebbles and fill up the. Space quickly.
