Tiny weeds sprouting in flower bed - help!

I have tiny green weeds across much of my flower beds. When they do get established they look a lot like clover. I spent ages pulling out the shoots one by one yesterday, but it took me a long time to do a small patch. What’s the best way to get rid of them quickly? Would a hoe work (the roots are shallow) and when using one, do you just leave the uprooted weeds on top of the soil to decompose? Thanks!

I usually hoe and then it's easy to pick the weeds out and throw them in the green bin, because you are just picking them up from the surface rather than uprooting them individually. I have no idea if that is the right thing to do!

Hoe on a sunny dry day and you can just leave them.

My Dad (very good gardener) says you should always hoe twice a week, and yes, just leave them on the surface of the earth to die.
