Gardens to visit in Cambridge?

Heading for a day trip to Cambridge in a few days, any recommendations for beautiful gardens to visit? And any must-see areas in the gardens if they're very big, considering whats currently in bloom?

Bonus if there's a lovely on-site cafe/restaurant : )

Many thanks

Oooh the botanical gardens! I visit quite often, it’s so beautiful and they have a nice cafe there as well. If you get the park and ride from Trumpington it stops very close by.

Yes the botanical gardens are great, and Robinson and Newnham colleges have very lovely gardens too, if they're open.

CU Botanical gardens is the obvious one, has a cafe and can eat outside in the gardens. Also lovely to walk along the river (backs of colleges) or boat trip and see college gardens. Orchard Tea Rooms in Grantchester is very nice with an apple orchard bit further out.

Angelsey Abbey is outside Cambridge so you’ll need a car but has nice gardens.

most of the colleges have gardens but only parts are open - you could walk down the backs and go into Kings and Johns.

Newnham also has a cafe.

Newnham College for sure - as others have mentioned there is also a cafe. Enjoy!

Walking along the river is nice, through the commons.

Thanks again for the recommendations. It was a wonderful day out - the botanical garden is looking lovely, the cafe is so peaceful as well. I also visited Kettle's Yard - soooo beautiful.
