Can anyone help with ideas to fill the gap?

Our Leylandi has died in parts and the neighbour behind has cut all the branches on their side. What can I plant that will grow tall to fill the gaps? Another Leylandi? I am a clueless and lazy gardener and the soil is dry and shaded so something that I can't kill . Many thanks

Have to be something in pots or troughs with a trellis behind, on the leylandii stumps (unless you want to spemd £££ getting the stumps out). Those are awful conditions to grow anything in!

Fatsia.

Indestructible once it gets going so by the biggest size you can .

Thanks for the replies. The trees are still there but the branches are dead in places. I have had some things planted but as you can see they are dying or dead.

Can anyone help with ideas to fill the gap?
