Identification help please- some sort of tree sapling?

Can anyone help with what this is? It grew randomly in one of my pots and seems quite healthy. I think it lost its leaves over winter but not 100% sure on that. Thanks!

I think it is some variety or other of cornus (dogwood). So it might be a native seedling, or a garden shrub you bought and have forgotten about.

It looks like viburnum bodnantense Dawn, a beautiful shrub.

I’m betting viburnum too, based on the leaves and the fact that the plants produce berries.

No idea but I get lots of oak and Hazel sapplings in my pots and all over my lawn...courtesy of the local squirrels.

A tree sapling will have the leaves just at the top (like a tree). This looks like a shrub to me - wait and see what it does!

Have a look over your neighbours fence to see if you can play snap.
