Anyone know what’s wrong with this? Last year she had apples and did fine through winter.

Now glum despite feeding, watering, etc..

Why have you broken a piece off?

Why have you broken a piece off?

It's clearly a stone-dead bit.

@Supersimkin7 Is it in the ground or in a pot?

Supersimkin7 · 15/04/2025 14:37

In a pot!

All the buds are like this - bark is green tho.few white spots on trunk.

Have just lost a deutzia to honey fungus bit im pretty sure it’s not that - no sign.

Can you post a picture of the whole tree?

myvolvohasavulva · 17/04/2025 08:42

Obvious thing but is the pot too small? Not wide enough? Are you able to soak to whole pot in water until air bubbles stop in case the root area is hydrophobic. Alternatively is the water able to drain out freely? Is the pot raised off the ground and the mix well draining? Did you possibly feed too early in the season promoting growth a bit too early?

Here she is, all sad. Just about to
repot her.

Yes, sadly she looks dead. Scrape a branch and if you see any green then it’s still alive but no green inside the branch then it’s gone

EmmaJane2025 · 27/04/2025 13:06

Also, it looks to have had very little light in that spot so that may have contributed

Supersimkin7 · 27/04/2025 14:57

Thanks so much. There’s green on the upper branches but there were small brown weevils in the roots and the trunk
is mush. RIP, fine friend.
