I've got two Christmas cacti that I've had about 7 years and haven't killed.
They live on a north facing window sill in part sun. I feel the time has come for bigger pots, when they dry out they're a bit unstable.
Also a huge aloe, which I think could be split.
A peace Lily, it produces a couple of flowers every year, but it doesn't look healthy, the leaf tips go brown and the stalk itself looks almost rotten, I think I've probably over watered it. I rescued it from a supermarket rack, looking dead, and it's lasted about 6 years.
And one of those weird onion plants. It produces bulblets, and a couple of very tall leaves, the pot is very small, not much bigger than the circumference of the bulb.
It was given to me and I have no idea how to look after it or encourage it to flower.
I'm after advice of what sort of compost I need, and the best houseplant food.
I've also got a south facing window sill I'd like to have a couple of flowering plants on, any recommendations welcome!
Thanks to anyone taking the time to read and give advice.
