This plant is rampant in the empty house next doors garden. It’s coming up on my side of the fence too and seems to be causing skin irritation in my cats.

Can anyone ID this?

Ground elder! You can mow over it when it's in grass, or weed it out from the soil but it's quite invasive. You can eat it as salad leaves too.

Not responsible for my cats itchy skin then!

Not sure, I haven't heard of that issue!

I would say Enchanter's Nightshade.

Ground Elder has more leaves on a stalk.

I don't know if EN causes irritation in cats.

Not Enchanters nightshade - the leaves are wrong. It does look like ground elder.

Agree. Could it be mint family? Is the stem square in the cross section?

I put this onto the "Picture This" app and it says ground elder.

I'd say ground elder. It will get more leaves if you leave it to grow, but mine looks just like this currently. I need to get weeding again... Still, it can be quite therapeutic tracing the roots and pulling term out

Yep, ground elder. I spent a whole afternoon last week weeding out the wretched stuff in my friends’ garden.

This is Enchanter's Nightshade -
