Yew tree hedge

I would like to plant yew tree hedging in my border. It is only 80cms between the fence and sleeper border edge. Is this wide enough?

That's about the width of mine - and it's done really well - but you'll need to keep it clipped if you want it to stay the right side of the border! I do mine twice a year, in late May and late September/early October.

Yes, it will be fine. Some varieties of yew are very upright in growth habit, so maybe look for Taxus baccata 'fastigiata' on the plant label and choose those.
