Potato plant disaster!

A few years ago we built a long planter in our garden. Whilst filling it up, my lovely DH used the soil that I had been using to (unsuccessfully) grow potatoes. This soil also contained the dead plant and old tubing potatoes. Now a few years later, we're fighting a losing battle with potato plants sprouting up everywhere, and they're now growing on the edge of our lawn...please give me advice on how we can kill them off? Or at least control them?!

Well that must be exasperating.

Consistent mowing should see them off from the lawn, or you could use a Weed and Feed.

In the beds it’s just a case of weeding up every single one. At the allotment we always say the volunteers from last year are the nicest new potatoes though, so you might find it easier to wait until they are a little bigger. But you do have to be meticulous about digging everything out.

Are they definitely potato plants as it's cold for them to have sprouted leaves yet. Agree the micro potatoes left are a real pain.
