This looks like an evergreen - anyone know what it is?

I think it's a bergenia, but may need someone more knowledgeable than me to confirm that.

I had a load in my garden but they've been totally eaten by deer!

WindDothBlow · 06/03/2025 14:31

Could be a flaming Katy?

ErrolTheDragon · 06/03/2025 14:36

It's a bergenia.

Amazing! Bergenia is on the shady plant list that I’m doing for a section of my garden and was planning to go look it up at the garden centre.
By coincidence, I just saw this plant as I was passing someone’s garden and wondered what it was!

Comes back every year and you can spilt it.
A bit of early flowering

You're right they're evergreen, and there are a few different cultivars. Here's some more info

It might have been badgers. But I definitely saw the squirrels nibbling on them too.
