Can an azalea have too much direct sun?

My lovely vibrant azalea is going dark brown to black, wondering if this always happens at end of flowering or if being burnt by sun?

It only gets about 4 hours in the morning but it is direct and strong. Any gardening people about?
thanks

That's what always happens to azaleas and rhododendrons at the end of flowering.

Pick the dead flowers off - they will break off easily.

Thanks WigWamBam, it's new so first year of seeing what happens.

Good to know haven't destroyed it yet
