Plant identification - shrubs on new allotment

Hello, I’ve recently acquired an allotment and as I’ve been clearing weeds I have discovered two rows of about 5 small shrubs, but I’m not sure what they are so I thought a more experienced gardener might be able to help recognise what they are? One row is about ⅔ along my plot and the other is near the back, the rows are approx 4m away from each other if that helps! I can’t be 100% sure but I think they all might be the same, apart from one which has been pruned (is that one even still alive?). I’ve tried apps but it gave me a range of possibilities including currants, cherry, apricot and peach…so I’m not much the wiser. Thank you for looking!

Another photo which shows the buds and bark a bit better…

Possibly blackcurrants / redcurrants / blueberries etc. A blackcurrant bush will likely smell of blackcurrants if you brush against it, even in this state. You can download a plant ID app which will help you as you work. Congrats on your new allotment.

Sherunswithwolves Thank you and that’s a good tip, will try to see if I can identify a smell next time I’m there.

Looks like some sort of currant bush to me too.
