Any idea what this is? It seems to be covering my wall and spreading... how can I remove it? Thanks!

It looks like where a climbing plant like Ivy has been removed- it shouldn't be spreading because it looks like what is left behind. Have you lived in the property for long?

Yes - that's where ivy has been stripped off the walls

... and it's a bugger to get those annoying rooty bits off!
