Playhouses

We've recently had a large landscaping job done in our garden which was mega stressful and eaten all our savings. Anyway. My dc's godmum has gifted us some money for a playhouse for my children to go in the garden. My eldest is desperate for one. My children are 7 and 1 - large age gap - so I'd need something big enough to keep my 7 year old involved and entertained for a few years but the space we have isn't huge (garden is steep and terraced so it would go on one of the terraces). Does anyone have any recommendations for good, big wooden playhouses? I've googled of course but thought I'd post on here to see if anyone has seen or knows of any that they recommend.

Budget circa £500.

Definitely none of the plastic playhouses, I had a tall 5 year old when we went searching and every one of them was far too small. In the end we decorating and painted a wooden shed, but it was so full of bugs and spiders that it was never used.

We had one from Dunster House which lasted from toddlers until ours were 8 and 10. They're excellent quality and was still in good enough condition to sell when we finally out grew it.

Ours came from Yorkshire Garden Buildings. I can't see the exact model we had, but if you put playhouse into the search box several different options come up. We had exactly the same problem as you- a very tall 6 year old and a petite 4 year old.

We have a painted shed too as DC ages range between 12 and 2. Everyone uses it! It does get repainted every year but is big enough to have a play kitchen and toddler table and chairs inside. We’ve added in a vintage phone, lights and chalkboards. And if they suddenly stop using it I’ll benefit from having another shed
