What can I do with my front garden

I recently moved into a lovely house, mid terrace in a cute little cul de sac. I have a front garden with a white picket fence, it's just a patch of grass and path to the house, I plan to get hanging baskets for by the door but what else can I do to make it pretty? I was thinking a bench for under the window but I'm not sure if that's a thing now days. Suggestion please and Pictures would be a bonus Grin

It depends what aspect your garden has OP. If it’s sunny then lots of possibilities. Hanging baskets and bench sound lovely. Does bench need to be secured from theft? If it was me, inspired by a lovely picket fence, I would take up the lawn if small, have a massive delivery of compost and manure and make two lovely herbaceous beds with tall cottage garden flowers each side of the path.

But if you want low maintenance or to grow food you need another plan. Whatsort of gardens do you enjoy? Do you love scent? Do you want to help wildlife, eg butterflies and bees?

Whatever you decide I highly recommend taking time to get the bones and soil right before planting. Then it will be greatfor years to come.
