Hi, just been given a load of cardboard boxes which I want to use as a mulch in the allotment... It's brown cardboard but some of the boxes have white print on, (not glossy). Should I avoid using those ones do you think?

I never worry about printing.

You may be able to peel the shiny part off, if not then you can't use as it won't degrade. Only brown cardboard , no cellotape etc

OP says it's s not shiny.

I usually tear off anything that comes off easily and just use the rest. Any tape etc that goes down lifts up easily after a couple of good soakings.

Thanks everyone! Taken all the tape off and a lot of the print came off anyway so I won't worry too much about the remaining bits.
