for my blueberry bush, which was in a big, big pot. I dug away with my spade, down, down into the earth

then, sweating lightly, I gently tipped the plant upside down....

and all the soil fell away, leaving me with a tiny rootball in the shape of a 6" pot

grr on you behalf.
Me & DH painstakingly planted potatoes, carrots, lettuce, spring onions and normal onions. We explained to dds (2 and 3) what was going to happen. Ooh the excitement. Last week they were playing in the garden. Looking at all the shoots. Carrots mommy. Yes darling carrots. They got v v v excited about the onions which are around a corner. Onions mommy Onions mommy (continuously) until I notice compost on both of their little hands. Go round corner to find 20 onions uprooted and lined up on the wall .
Said onions are now re-planted and growing really rather well. Tough little blighters.

i planted my blueberry yesterday - into a big pot, im not hoping for much as the roots were all exposed and dying due to dog dragging around the garden

at the onions, dog dug mine up and i didnt get any, just a planter full of random salad leaves on account of the fact that he dug it up after i planted everything in neat little rows

They're buggers lively and helpful my two!! They've 'fed' the plants with sand as well. I just figure at least the soil isn't going to get waterlogged in this horrid weather now .
